CBD has become extremely popular, and wherever you go you will either see CBD or hear about it. Before we go any further let us start off with the basics. What is CBD?
CBD is short for Cannabidiol that can be found in the Cannabis Sativa plant. CBD comes in many forms like oils, edibles, capsules, creams, and even CBD vapes.
CBD has a lot of benefits such as:
- Relieving Pain
- Reducing anxiety and depression
- May reduce acne
This brings us to the next question, can CBD cure cancer?
CBD may help reduce the symptoms that are related to cancer and the side effects that are related to the treatment such as pain, nausea, and vomiting.
It may also help reduce the nausea and vomiting that comes along with the chemotherapy. There was a study performed on 16 people that were undergoing chemotherapy and it was found that a combination of one to one CBD and THC that was administered via mouth spray reduced the nausea and vomiting that was related to the chemotherapy.
Studies on animals as well as test tubing showed that CBD may have anticancer properties. One of the test-tube studies found that concentrated CBD induced cell death in breast cancer cells in humans.
Prevention of cancer
“A 2010 study used a mouse model to study the effects of cannabinoids, THC specifically, on suppression of the immune system. The study found evidence that THC can, in fact, suppress the immune system, though whether that increases the risk of cancer is not well established.”
Can CBD cure cancer?
At this stage, there is no evidence that CBD can cure cancer.
An important thing that cancer patients should know if they want to use CBD is to consult their health care provider so that they can be informed and make sure that nothing interacts with your cancer treatment.
Is CBD legal?
Hemp-derived CBD products that contain less than 0.3 percent of THC are legal federally but are still illegal under some state laws. Cannabis-derived CBD products are illegal federally but legal under some state laws. Make sure to check the local legislation especially if you are planning to travel.
As we know CBD comes in many forms and vaping CBD is one of them.
